VANCE & HINES ROLLS OUT TO THE LOVERIDE
11/14/2005 SANTA FE SPRINGS – Billed as the largest one day motorcycle event in the world, the Love Ride held its 22nd running this past Sunday from the city of Glendale to Castaic Lake in Southern California, all in the spirit of helping others in need. And this year, with the debut of its new show truck, the Vance & Hines crew came out to join the festivities.
Organized by Harley Davidson of Glendale, the Love Ride draws the participation of more than 20,000 motorcyclists who caravan from the dealership on Sunday morning up Interstate 5 to Castaic Lake where participants enjoy a BBQ lunch and outdoor concert on the lakefront in the picturesque hills of Castaic. The event raises funds for a number of vital charities including the Muscular Dystrophy Association and Reading by 9, a child literacy initiative developed by the Los Angeles Times.
In addition to the concert, a vendor fair showcasing the latest and greatest for motorcycle enthusiasts gave Vance & Hines the opportunity to roll out its show truck to display the exhaust pipes that set the benchmark for the Harley Davidson® aftermarket.
In response to the demand of today’s riders, Vance & Hines launched its HS awareness campaign, introducing a full line of blue proof exhaust systems for the ever popular Softail®, Dyna™, Sportster® and Dresser models. Through the use of full length, full coverage heat shields, chrome discoloration is now a thing of the past.
Featured under its canopy, Vance & Hines showed off its brand new Big Shot Duals for Dressers, a true dual complete header to muffler system sporting full length, one-piece heat shields for a stunning and seamless appearance. And seen for the first time in public, Vance & Hines gave a sneak preview of its upcoming Big Radius system for 2006 Dynas, complete with oxygen sensor plugs required for the new generation Dyna.
In addition to the show truck, Vance & Hines brought its championship winning Screamin’ Eagle V-Rod team and with introductions by Love Ride grand marshal Jay Leno, Harley enthusiasts got the chance to meet the 2005 NHRA Pro Stock champ Andrew Hines and first runner up GT Tonglet.
The sublime strings of blues legend B.B. King, entertaining the crowds before they embarked on their ride home, completed the day. All around a fantastic event, the Love Ride has raised nearly $20 million for charity over the last 20 years.
