The Harley-Davidson // Vance & Hines Pro Stock Motorcycle Team is heading into the NHRA Finals this weekend with the Championship on the line.

“Anytime you come to the season Finals in Pomona with a chance to win the Championship it’s been a great year,” says Four-Time NHRA Champion Eddie Krawiec, “it all comes down to this one race to perform and make it all come together.”  While coming into the race 4 points out of 1st place, Krawiec is quick to remind everyone he’s still the reigning NHRA Champion; “sitting second in points can be an advantage since it puts all the pressure on Matt Smith who currently has the lead.”

On the other side of the paddock, currently in 6th place and 113 points out of 1st, Andrew Hines is eyeing his opportunity to take advantage of Pomona’s unique scoring system. “I’m looking to make up some ground, and luckily Pomona is the place to get it done,” says Hines, a Five-Time NHRA Champion, “every round is worth more [points], and the winner gets 150 points,” making Hines mathematically still in contention to be a top finisher.

“We’re all laser-focused on bringing home the team’s 10th Championship this weekend,” adds third Harley-Davidson rider, Chip Ellis. Having joined the team late in the season, Chip is outside of the Countdown to the Championship, but he hasn’t let that slow him down with a strong showing in his first four races back including a trip to the final round at the Carolina Nationals.
