Each Labor Day weekend, NHRA racers and fans descend on Lucas Oil Raceway at Indianapolis for the biggest, oldest, richest, and most prestigious drag race in the world. They say that no career is truly complete without a win at this, drag racing’s grandest event. As the last race of the 18-race regular season, this season’s event will take on extra importance. The stakes will be high with an increased amount of points in play via a return to the point-and-a-half system as teams battle for the final top-10 spots in the Mello Yello Countdown to the Championship playoffs. Special events are taking place throughout the weekend and the drama on Championship Monday is expected to be more amplified than ever! Thundering jet car exhibitions will conclude racing on Friday and Saturday evening and be sure to stick around on Friday for the fireworks exhibition on the track.
